Overnight support to protect your rest

As your overnight doula, my infant expertise and calming presence will allow you to sleep soundly knowing your little one will be in safe hands throughout the night. Whether you’re recovering from birth or going through a tough sleep patch, I will help you get the sleep you need, so you can be the rested parent your baby needs in the morning.

The Process

As your night nanny I will:

  • Come to your home from 10 pm - 6 am (8 hours)

  • Take care of all your baby's needs including changing diapers, burping, and rocking to sleep while you have the chance for an extended night of restorative sleep

  • Either bring your baby to you when they wake up and are hungry, or bottle feed them for their night feeds

  • Do some light housework such as dishes or laundry, up to 1 hour if baby doesn’t need my attention

Prior to my first overnight visit, there is a required daytime visit, approximately 1 hour, to get to know each other and do a house tour.

My overnight doula services are limited to protect my own wellbeing. I can provide a maximum of 2 visits per week, depending on my client numbers, and there must be a night off in between visits. Additionally, you must have a bed or long couch for me, either in your baby’s room or separate, so that we can all have as much rest as possible.

FAQs

  • If you are body-feeding your baby, you will have two options for when they are hungry in the night.

1/ I will bring baby to you in your bed when they are hungry so you can feed them. Once they are done I will do all the other care tasks including burping them, diaper change, and putting them back to sleep.

2/ When baby is hungry I will bottle feed them previously expressed milk, and text you so that you can pump to maintain your milk supply.

  • Unfortunately, no. Since I have limited availability for overnight support, I have to prioritize clients who need substantial help, rather than just one-off visits. Additionally, because overnight support requires a very personal and trusting client-doula relationship, I am not comfortable working with families for less than three nights at a time.
